Makemake was found in March 2005, a few days after Easter, so its finders nicknamed it Easterbunny.
Its official name comes from Rapa Nui, the island famous for its giant stone heads. Makemake is the creator god of its people.
It's about two-thirds the size of Pluto, and covered in frozen methane that has turned reddish-brown in the sunlight.
For years it seemed to be alone. Then in 2016 the Hubble Space Telescope spotted a tiny, very dark moon hiding in its glare.
