New Horizons is about the size of a grand piano. It left Earth in 2006 faster than any spacecraft before it.
When it launched, Pluto was still a planet. Seven months later, it wasn't.
Nine and a half years later, in July 2015, it flew past Pluto and sent home the first close-up pictures of that distant heart.
On New Year's Day 2019 it flew past Arrokoth, the most distant world ever explored up close.
It carries a small amount of the ashes of Clyde Tombaugh, the man who discovered Pluto.
