A full moon is an instant, not a day — the moment the Moon sits exactly opposite the Sun. That instant is the same everywhere on Earth, but the date it lands on is not. The Flower Moon peaks at 17:23 UTC, which falls on a different calendar day depending on how far east or west you are.

Where the names come from
The month-by-month names — Wolf, Snow, Worm, Pink, Flower, Strawberry, Buck, Sturgeon, Harvest, Hunter’s, Beaver, Cold — come mostly from Algonquian peoples of the north-eastern woodlands, collected and popularised by the Farmers’ Almanac in the twentieth century. They describe what was happening on the land in that month, not anything about the moon itself.
Which means they are seasonal to one part of one hemisphere. A “Snow Moon” in February makes no sense in Australia, where it is high summer. The full moon names guide goes through all twelve.
