Is the Quadrantids shower visible tonight?

What the Quadrantids actually are
The Quadrantids can match the Geminids for sheer numbers, but almost nobody sees them at full strength. The Earth crosses the debris stream almost perpendicular to it, so instead of a broad peak spread over a couple of nights you get a sharp spike roughly six hours wide. Be on the wrong side of the planet that morning and the same shower gives you a handful of meteors instead of a hundred.
That makes the local peak time the whole game for this one, which is exactly what the countdown above resolves. It also means weather gives you no second chance — a clouded-out Quadrantid peak is simply gone for the year.
The shower is named after Quadrans Muralis, a constellation that no longer officially exists. It was dropped when the modern constellation boundaries were fixed in 1922, but the shower kept the name, so the radiant now technically sits in Boötes near the handle of the Big Dipper.

The moon is essentially out of the way at 15% illumination, which is the best case: a properly dark sky and the faint meteors visible along with the bright ones.
Moonlight is the variable that most often decides whether a shower is memorable or merely fine, and it changes completely from year to year. How to watch

- Use no telescope. Meteors cross tens of degrees of sky in a second. Binoculars and telescopes make it worse, not better — your own eyes have the only wide enough field.
- Give it twenty minutes. Dark adaptation is chemical and slow, and one glance at a phone screen resets it. Most people who say they saw nothing left before their eyes were working.
- Look away from the radiant. Meteors appear all over the sky. Those closest to Boötes are heading towards you and appear as short stubs; the long dramatic streaks are 40 to 60 degrees away from it.
- Lie down. A reclining chair or a blanket beats standing and craning, and you can hold the pose for the hour it takes to see a shower properly.
